SUNDAY MORNING EVENTS:

NURSERY -

Nursery Open: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm (Babies up to the age of 3) Room 101

CHILDREN'S & YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL -

Classes begin at 9:30 am each Sunday.

♦ Pre-K and K (ages 3 through 6) - Room 107 (next to kitchen)

♦ 1st and 2nd Grade - Room 205

♦ 3rd - 5th Grades - Room 204

♦ 6th - 8th Grades - Room 201

♦ 9th - 12th Grades - Room 200

CHILDREN'S CHURCH -

Ages 3 through kindergarten may leave after children's time during the 11:00

service for a children's sermon and a time of crafts and fun, except on

Communion Sunday (first Sunday of every month)...

ACOLYTES -

Calling all kids entering 3rd grade and up who would be interested in being a part of our worship service. Your duties would include lighting of the candles, bringing the offering to the Lord's table and carrying the light out of the service. Occasionally, you will assist the minister with any baptism that is to be performed.

CHILDREN'S GROUP:

ELEMENTARY CLUBS is for children in grades 1st through 6th grade. We will meet various times throughout the year (see calendar for events) to develop Christian friendships and experience Christian mission activities. A meal is provided for $2.00.

CONFIRMATION:

Munholland UMC is preparing for Confirmation with classes set to begin in February. We are working with a few other churches in our area and more information will be forthcoming very soon. Confirmation class is for youth in 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grades.

The goal of confirmation classes is to discuss the basics of the faith, engage in the practices of the faith, and focus on commitment and discipleship. The rite of confirmation provides the opportunity for your youth to profess the faith into which they were baptized.

Please respond as soon as possible to let me know if your youth will be participating in the confirmation process this year. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Melissa Chailland .

JANUARY

Sunday, January 15th - Presentation on Etiquette and Manners by Betsy White 12-2 pm

FEBRUARY

Sunday, February 5th - Mission Opportunity - 12:00-1:30 pm

We will work to put together food bags for the homeless at Luke’s house and make Valentine cards for our home bound members. Lunch is provided for $2.00

Monday, February 13th - Hope Lodge 5:00 pm

We will team up with UMW for the Hope Lodge Valentine Party located at 2609 River Road, near Ochsner Hospital on Jefferson Hwy.

Wednesday, February 29th - Round Table Discussion 5:45 pm

All parents are invited to attend our Children's Round Table Discussion in room 205.

MARCH

March 22 through March 25th - If you are interested Munholland is heading back to Camp Istrouma for the 2nd phase of their mission trip. For more information contact Barbara Harris at 833-9978.Esplanade.

Esplanade.

MUSIC- We see music as a gift from God, and as a gift we give one another. Our various musical group share is a variety of ways in worship and in special presentations.

Altar Choir 1st - 6th grades Practice Wednesdays 5:45-6:30 pm in Adult Choir Room

DEVOTIONAL MAGAZINES:

POCKETS is a 48 page devotional magazine for elementary age children and is published by Upper Room Ministries. The magazine was designed for the personal use of children to help them grow in their relationship with God. It includes full-color photos, stories, poems, games, memory verses, mission-focused activities, daily scripture readings, and contributions from children.

DEVOzine is a devotional magazine designed just for youth and published by Upper Room Ministries. It is written by teenagers and by adults who work with and care about teens. The purpose is to help youth 12-18 years old develop a lifelong practice of spending time with God and of reflecting on what God is doing in their lives. Each issue of the bi-monthly, 64-page, full-color magazine focuses on nine themes, one for each week. Each theme includes weekday meditations and a feature article on the weekend.
