Inviting persons to Christian discipleship

Missions

At Munholland, we are committed to giving of our time, money, and other resources to serve Christ by reaching out to others on the local, regional and world level. Below you will find a list of the areas where we are actively living out the call of Christ through missions!

  • One Great Day of Mission-  Each year we sponsor Munholland Mission Madness also known as One Great Day of Missions. On this day, church members of all ages work at various sites throughout Metairie and New Orleans to bring the love of God to the hearts of people through service.

  • Mission to the Homeless -
    • St. Mark's- Munholland serves St. Mark's North Rampart Community Center through financial and material support. In partnership with St. Mark's, Munholland assists with its homeless ministry by preparing and serving food to those in need each month. If you would like to be a part of this mission ministry please contact Betsy White to volunteer to help!

    • "Sacks of Love" We never know when we may encounter someone who is hungry. To always be prepared to offer help, Munholland members carry sacks of love with them. These sacks contain non-perishable food items, a drink, a snack and a prayer card.

  • Mission Trips- Currently we are dedicated to doing mission work locally. We have partnered with Triumph of Special People, a non-profit organization that provides services for developmentally disabled adults in the New Orleans area, to do construction work on a home that will be used to house mentally disabled adults. Mission projects in the community are forthcoming. Check back to see what we'll be doing next!
  • Community Support Missions- With a focus to give back to serve and build up our community, Munholland hosts two 12-Step groups at the church as well as give regular support, supplies and service to Ella Dolhonde School, our local public elemenatry school, People's Community Center, Habitat for Humanity, Kairos Prison Fellowship, the Ulster Project, Ekaterinburg UMC in Russia, ministries to the homeless, and many other mission projects.

  • Habitat for Humanity- Munholland works with New Orelans Habitat for Humanity to help with homebuilding projects in the local area. As part of the ministry, members from Munholland who volunteer gain knowledge and expereince in the area of home repair, thereby equipping our members to do home repair jobs in other areas of missions. Voluntters generally work on saturday
